BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE (BEC)

INTRODUCTION

Business English Certificate is a qualification for business communication at workplace. The test gives comprehensive assessment on the performance of the aspirants under the level of Reading, Writing, listening & speaking. The test is exclusively organized by Cambridge University, London and conducted by British Council Division, Chennai. BEC exam gives enough confidence on the minds of the students to communicate effectively under any situation. The successful attempt of the students in the examinations gives them long term qualification.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

CCNA

CCNA Certificate validates Professional Students ability to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot medium size route and switched networks. CCNA Curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, and wireless networking concepts. It is a performance based examination. It also includes use of protocols, IP, EIGRP RIPV2, VLANS, Ethernet, ACL.

ICTACT Skilledge

ICTACT has been implementing various skill development initiatives for up-skilling the teachers in the ICT domain thereby benefitting the students to become employable in the state of Tamil Nadu. ICTACT has launched SKILLEDGE – a skill development initiative dedicated to create & enhance employability skills among the graduating students in both Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges.

IETE CHAPTER

IEEE

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognized professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Founded in 1953, it serves more than 70,000 members through various centres’, whose number is 62, spread all over India and abroad. The Institution provides leadership in Scientific and Technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has recognized IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence.

The IEEE is made up of 10 regions, 36 Technical societies, 4 Technical councils, approximately 1200 individuals and joint society chapters and 300 sections.

IETE STUDENT BRANCH

    VISION

    The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.

    MISSION

    • To plan and organize technical programs and activities, such as, special lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, exhibitions etc. for the benefit of student members on a regular basis.
    • To provide common platform for the student members to exchange ideas and information on the topics of their interest e.g. curriculum, employment /higher educational opportunities, emerging trends, new development etc.
    • To facilitate technical visits / practical training / project work / employment, of the student members in R&D laboratories, industries, academic institutions etc. To encourage team work and the spirit of self-reliance among the student members;
    • To serve as a focal point at the institution on all aspects of professional development of the student members

    The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics engineering of P.S.R. Rengasamy College of Engineering For Women inagurate the IETE students chapter on 24th October 2011.The inaguration was presided over by the chief guest Dr.S.Arivazhagan, the “IETE chairman” IETE Sub centre Sivakasi, in the presence of the director Mr.R.Sundar and the Principal Dr.K.Ramasamy

ISTE is a Professional Society giving more than 50 National and Regional Awards to Institutions, Teachers and Students for innovation and excellence in various areas of Engineering and Technology. ISTE is the premier membership association for educators and education leaders engaged in improving learning and teaching by advancing the effective use of technology in PK–12 and teacher education.ISTE represents more than 100,000 education leaders and emerging leaders throughout the world and informs its members regarding educational issues of national and global scope. ISTE members include individuals, affiliate organizations, and corporations:

    ISTE mission is to advance the excellence in learning and teaching through innovative and effective uses of technology. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations. ISTE membership helps to develop and communicate advocacy positions and a compelling rationale that supports effective use of technology in education. It Provides up-to-date information about emerging policy issues and opportunities for action. PSRR holds the ISTE Institution Membership with IM 1904 with effect from 2010.

    ISTE STAFF CHAPTER AT PSRR

    The inauguration of ISTE Staff Chapter at PSRR was held in 2010. There are 61 staff members in ISTE Institution Staff Chapter (TN-223). The following activities were conducted by ISTE Staff Chapter for faculties: Faculty Development Program, Promoting the faculties to interact with the corporate people to have seminars and Guest lectures, and assisting the staff members to participate in various International and National conferences.

    The inauguration of ISTE Student Chapter at PSRR was held in 2010.It has 441 students as members with Institution Student Chapter (TN-265) at PSRR. The ISTE Student Chapter activities include workshops, guest lectures by both the corporate and academic personalities and also various developmental programs which support effective use of technology in education

IEEE

Computer society of India established in the year 1965 is today the largest IT professionals Society in India. The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science, computer engineering and technology, systems science and engineering, information processing and related arts and sciences. Its largest professional body where computer professionals meet to exchange views and information, to learn and share ideas.

    To become a centre of excellence in the field of computer education and research. Our Student member, making the profession an area of choice amongst all sections of the society.

    MISSION

    To produce globally competent and technically skilled computer professionals, and to cultivate the spirit of ethical values for the cause of development of our nation to the students. Inspiring and nurturing the students to prepare them to step into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community.

    The Computer Society of India (CSI) student’s chapter of PSRR has been functioning in our college since 2011. Totally 251 Students of CSE & IT have been registered as a student member of CSI from our college. Regular seminars are being arranged for updating the knowledge in modern topics. National Conference and Technical symposium are been conducted by the CSI Student chapter in order to bring out the super brain. Importance has been given to the association hours, to extract the hidden talents from the students. The students can deliver their innermost ideas and topics about modern trends in Information Technology.

    The primary purpose of IEEE student branch is to Inspire, Enable, Empower and Energize our student members to enhance their technical interests by providing them a platform to show case their skills.

    MISSION

    • To arrange for regular events in the campus specifically dealing with latest technologies
    • To work towards inspiring more students to become members
    • To increase the Membership Retention, though the benefits of IEEE
    • To organize technical awareness programs for young professionals
    • To form more Special Interest Groups to encourage project activity among the student members

    The IEEE student Branch at P.S.R.Rengasamy College of Engineering for Women is formed in Aug 2012. The Student Branch was started with 20 student members.

    The objective of starting IEEE Student branch was to create awareness about the day today technological developments and to make them to utilize the resources available in IEEE and to make most of our student members involve themselves in publishing research papers and projects.

    The student branch organizes technical quizzes, seminars and other contests among students & Invited lectures by experts from industry and other academic institutions.Even though it was an initiatory event, the students displayed their full energy and organizing capabilities. From then, there has been no looking back we have been very active and vibrant till this date. Since then it is organized many events to provide outstanding value to its members.
